Zionsville Lions Club to develop new master plan for Zionsville Lions Park.

The Zionsville Lions Club is excited to announce that it is embarking on an exciting journey to develop a comprehensive master

plan for Zionsville Lions Park that will shape its future for generations to come.

Lions Park has been the heart of Zionsville for nearly a century, connecting the lives of our residents, our organization, and our

community. This master plan will articulate a bold, long- range vision for Lions Park that will

help ensure that the park continues to strengthen our community.

Zionsville Lions Park stands as a unique gem among community parks, distinguished by its private ownership and

operation under the stewardship of the Zionsville Lions Club, a non- profit community organization.

Unlike most parks, Lions Park operates without public tax

funding, relying solely on the dedication and effort of volunteers for its programming, maintenance, and activities.

Planning Process

Great parks don’t happen by accident; they require forward-looking yet practical plans to steer

their development, ensuring they deliver the maximum possible benefit to the community over time.

The Zionsville Lions Park Master Plan will serve as a comprehensive blueprint to guide the

park's long-term development. Its purpose is to align the park's evolution with the Zionsville

Lions Club's goals and objectives while also addressing high-priority community needs.

The plan, which is being developed by Zionsville-based FRMWRK Planning + Design, Inc., will

serve as a roadmap for future enhancements, encompassing both major projects and

incremental upgrades to ensure the park continues to serve as a vibrant community asset for many generations to come.

The planning process began in earnest in early 2024 and is expected to wrap up by the end of

the year. It includes gathering input from the community, park neighbors, Zionsville Lions

partners and donors, as well as Zionsville Lions Club members. It is anticipated that

implementation of the plan recommendations will occur incrementally over the coming years as funding allows.

Opportunities to get involved

There are several ways that the community can get involved in the planning process, the first of which is to complete the online community survey.

The survey is open to everyone, and can be accessed by visiting:

Public Open House

In addition, there is a public open house on April 30th, 2024 where there will be a series of

Participants can arrive any time between 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm and should anticipate spending 20-30 minutes completing the exercises.
