Scholarship Application

The Zionsville Lions Club will be awarding a $3,000.00 scholarship ($750.00 per year) over the period of 4 years to a graduating senior from Zionsville Community High School.  The student must attend an accredited college or university and participate in a four-year program to graduation.  The recipient must be a resident of Zionsville School District for at least two years.

The Lions Club Scholarship will be awarded based on the following criteria:

  1. Community service to school and/or local community
  2. School activities/leadership
  3. Essay/autobiography
  4. Scholarship achievement
  5. Financial need (no other significant funds available)
  6. Recommendations

The following is required:

  1. An application turned in to the ZHS guidance office:  APPLICATION (PDF)
  2. Transcript of high school credits
  3. GPA of 2.8 or above

PLEASE NOTE:  Unlike previous years, we will only accept paper submissions (no online option)

The following information must be typed or computer generated:

  1. Letter of recommendation from a teacher in subject matter of major interest
  2. Letter or recommendation from a community leader, clergy or employer
  3. Autobiographical essay on how community service has influenced your development**
  4. Completion of application form (paper copy from school or the online form below)

**This essay should include accurate statements regarding the extent of your community service experiences, demonstrate outstanding community service accomplishment, and describe personal transformation.  If you have not adequately outlined your service on the previous page (number of hours, years of engagement…) please detail the information further in this essay.


The Committee may choose to interview candidates. Interested students should complete the application and submit it to the Zionsville High School Guidance Office by March 20, 2017.  Applications received after this date will not be considered.  Scholarship recipient will be announced at the awards ceremony in May 2017.
