Scholarship Application

The Zionsville Lions Club will be awarding two scholarships for 2019!  We have our annual $3,000 scholarship offer to a 4-year university and we have now added a $2,000 vocational scholarship for a 2-year degree.

The Zionsville Lions Club will be awarding a $3,000.00 scholarship ($750.00 per year) over the period of 4 years to a graduating senior from Zionsville Community High School. The student must attend an accredited college or university and participate in a four-year program to graduation. The recipient must be a resident of Zionsville School District for at least two years.

The Zionsville Lions Club will be awarding a $2,000 vocational scholarship ($1,000.00 per year for a vocational training program not to exceed two years) to a graduating senior from Zionsville Community High School. The student must participate in a post-secondary vocational training program or attend an accredited
vocational/trade school to completion. The recipient must be a resident of Zionsville
School District for at least two years.

The Lions Club Scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria:

1. Service to the community, which may be local, state, national or international
2. School activities/leadership
3. Scholastic achievement
4. Essay/Recommendations

The following is required:

1. Transcript of high school credits
2. GPA of 3.0 or above (applies only to 4-year scholarship)

The following must be submitted with the completed application form:

1. Letter of recommendation from a teacher in subject matter of major interest
2. Letter or recommendation from a community leader, clergy or employer
3. Essay on how community service has influenced your development

The Zionsville Lions Club Scholarship Committee may choose to interview candidates. Interested students should complete the application and submit it to Cindy Bolander, Counseling Department Secretary, by Friday March 22, 2019. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. The scholarship recipient will be announced
at the Senior Awards Night on May 14, 2019.
